What is DATeCH?

The International DATeCH (Digital Access to Textual Cultural Heritage) conference brings together researchers and practitioners seeking innovative approaches for the creation, transformation and exploitation of historical documents in digital form. This interdisciplinary conference takes place at the intersection of computer science, (digital) humanities, and cultural heritage studies.

Announcement

11 October 2022

After careful consideration, the DATeCH Programme Committee has decided to organise the International DATeCH (Digital Access to Textual Cultural Heritage) Conference in December 2023 (instead of 2022 as originally intended). We would like to thank all researchers who have already shown an interest in our conference.

Alternatively, we still firmly believe that December 2022 is the perfect timing for the international digitisation community to meet in person. We would therefore like to announce that the IMPACT Centre of Competence in Digitisation will host its 10th Birthday Workshop on 12th December 2022 at the University of Alicante (Spain).

This workshop will be followed on 13th-14th December 2022 by the first meeting of the newly formed DIALOGUE: DIgitisAtion knowLedge fOr diGital hUmanities and cultural hEritage Network organised in close collaboration with the International Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) Community.

These events will provide an opportunity for colleagues to informally present their activities.

Further details will follow.

The DATeCH Programme Committee would like to thank you for your understanding regarding this decision. And, even though we will not have DATeCH this year, we look forward to welcoming you to Alicante in December 2022!
